Hey Im trying to find out whats the closest airport to Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Im from Canada and so am clueless about this! Im trying to book my flight right now since my interview is next thursday!

If I'd have to guess I'd say Philadelphia, though Newark Liberty in New Jersey isn't that far either.

i would call their admissions dept. i bet they get those kinds of questions all the time. =)

Thanks guys! I think its Philiadelphia international. Wow the ticket is coming out to 1500$ for my mom and me to fly out for the interview! that is crazy!!! (I am in Toronto, which is like an hour and a half long flight away)

WHAT. that's unreal. what airline are you flying? i don't think it should be that much.

You might want to look into one of the NY area airports (ie. LaGuardia or Newark, NJ) and see what it would be flying there and taking a bus or train to the PCO area, or even renting a car. It should not be anything close to $1500 for two people to get from Toronto to Philly...

When is your interview? If you are planning last minute then you can expect to pay more than you should. Fly into NJ or even Maryland. You can take a train into Philly. You might spend more time traveling but save a lot of money.

Congrats on the interview. I know both cities pretty well. That is an expensive ticket but not unusual on short notice. You may want to connect in NYC via JetBlue. Fly into Philly and take the R1 to Elkins Park. The school should be able to give you directions from there.
There's only only 1 train schedule, and it takes all day (12hrs) T.O.- Philly.
Or you could drive. Get a rental - its about 550 miles/880 km. Its 9 hrs doing 100km/hr and both of you share the driving. I've done it alone in 9 hrs but I prefer to take my time (12 hrs). If you take the Thousand Island Bridge just west of Gananoque you'll see the least traffic. If you need more info pm me.

I flew into Philadelphia International, then took the R1 (same directions as the pamphlet).
I think it was also possible to fly into Newark and take Amtrak to Philly?
I'm not sure how much you can save, but good luck on the interview

Aww thanks for all of the advice guys! I found a cheaper ticket for like 850$ for the both of us and think Im just going to get it, Id rather pay more than go through alot of trouble to get to the interview. But thanks for all the tips, I will keep it in mind for if I get in and need to travel home!! *Fingers Crossed* 🙂

$850 is more like it! that's a much more reasonable amount. =) good luck on your interview!
