I am planning to buy DAT destroyer as I have heard good things abt it on the forum. Following is what 2009 version got. Can someone tell me how is it different from 2007, 2008 version. Thanks.
DAT Destroyer "2009"
Including 6 of Dr. Romano’s famous “Organic Chemistry Roadmaps”

From what I have heard people said you get more problems? I not sure though because I did not spend money on it. The KBB and looking through old organic notes should be enough for the organic section.

kbb as a foundation for ANY of the fields is a big mistake. this is said atleast once a day. want an example? there isnt a single sentence on plants yet their own practice test (both cd and book test) have plant questions (among other things that are asked but not covered in the book). destroyer and some of the other materials may cost money, but not as much as taking the test twice. 😉

thats an easy question. every year he reduces the number of errors in his material by 2%. Ive got the aug 2008 edition (with odyssey) so ive only got 40% error rating. I hear the new one is at 37%, which shows theyre clearly working on their efficiency of error checking. 3% in one year? damn, that is CLEARLY impressive 😉

I was speaking of organic.
But yes a $200 book is cheaper than a $200 test. 😉 But I would agree if you include time, depending on amount of schools you send scores to, gas to get to the test, stress.... oh nevermind. 🙂

Have you taken the DAT yet? It sure seems like you haven't. It's posts like these that frustrate me and make me happy I got accurate advice from friends before taking my DAT. Have you ever considered there may be a reason people say knowing KBB is crucial over and over again? I will confidently say that knowing KBB sciences cover to cover and orienting yourself with the test through achiever/topscore will get you a 20 on each science section. Besides that, I just used destroyer which I found very overrated. Different strategies work for different people obviously, and clearly people can attain high scores w/o touching KBB. That said, I'll go ahead and stick to my opinion... especially for the cost, nothing beats KBB as a foundation.

the kaplan blue book is not nearly as good as the kaplan white book (the one that comes with the course)

see if you can buy the white one off someone who took the course and is done...much better study guide 👍

lol, they are same just prsctice in the end of each chapter in white book, But agree with you white book is better for having more practice tests.

unless they updated the blue one in the last year

I have both and the blue one is missing ALOT of stuff the white one has additionally (backround information not just questions)

My husband and I are both studying with different additions of Destroyer 07 and 09, i think. We are going over the problems together and so far have only had like 2 or 3 problems that were different and we are about half way through the book. I would say there is not a big enough difference to spend more on a newer edition!

Yeah I think the white one has a lot more plant stuff. The bb had barely any. However, I think either the bb or white is great to start off studying with. It gives a good overview and definitely reminded me of stuff I had completely forgotten. Add in some other materials to go with it and I think that's a pretty good mix.

The only difference is that by claiming that the new destroyer is better than the old one, the publisher can make more money!

It's just like textbooks from one edition to another, not much difference but 3x the price. But if you have money why not get the latest one, after all $150 is nothing compare to dental school

i have the new destroyer and i think there are more problems in all the sections, especially bio. but i dont have the old one so i dont know for sure. thats what ive heard.
