In other words when do I have to make a final decision. My boyfriend said that the AAMC allows people to hold multiple seats until May 1. What is the date for AACOM?

There is no date for DO schools. You can hold them for as long as you want to. However, it's always a good idea to give up your spots when you've made up your mind. The others waiting on spots will appreciate it.

That's true as long as you have paid the deposits at those schools otherwise you will lose your seat after a specified period of time.
