What is this exactly? Do you click Yes or No?

MCAT Recruiting Service*

I hereby authorize the AAMC to release my name, address, age, sex, state of residence, undergraduate major, email address and MCAT scores to those accredited U.S. and Canadian schools of medicine, osteopathy, podiatry, and veterinary medicine, and scholarship programs of the U.S. Government that request the MCAT Recruiting Service. They may send you information about their programs.

I clicked yes. I probably won't get any sort of scholarship invitations or anything, but if there's a chance, I'll try it. The big thing I see happening is the military trying to recruit me, unsuccessfully. But maybe I rocked my MCAT and I'll get scholarship offers without having to apply (here's to hoping!)

Don't know about the MCAT's service yet but I know the GRE's equivalent was a waste. I thought it might turn up some gems, but I found that any school that utilized the service was basically scavenging for whatever they could get and were among the weakest of programs. I still get email and letters from schools that are the carribean med schools of clinical psych and by percentile my GRE would be equivalent to a 38S on the MCAT. (I did get a couple from strong schools that were from doctoral programs in totally unrelated disciplines despite expressing interests in clinical psych specifically but those were the rare exception.) Overall, if the MCAT recruiter service is anything like the GRE's, I wouldn't bother w/ it. It's unlikely the best programs are going to pay to be a part of that kind of thing simply b/c they probably don't need to.
