What is the next best step?

Hi guys....I really dont know if this has become your problem....but me and some of my friends are discussing how to approach the question in UW, what is the next best step? or what is the most appropriate step? can anybody give the distinction of these two interregotaive questions....thanks

honestly for me these are sometimes the toughest questions. If the question centered around something that I actually did on the wards, I always put what we did. I know this wasn't always right, half the time you do 3 things at once so I don't know which is first. Then there are certain scenarios that I think have a pretty solid first step, can't necessarily remember them now because I've apparently already flushed most of that stuff. I had a running list while taking USMLEWorld questions of "tests for diagnosis of..." I feel like I spent a lot of time studying their answers to these type of questions. Probably not the answer you're looking for but...good luck
