I tried looking for the date on the site but I couldn't find it. I saw deadlines and stuff but not the FIRST day i can submit it. Does anyone know when this is?

Also, when do you guys think is a good time to take the MCAT'ss o that I can still be an "early applicant." I'm not looking for the generic answer of "when you're ready."

You can generally submit during the first week of June. They don't publish the exact date until they open the new AMCAS application in May.

April is a good time to take the MCAT so you have your score back, and if it isn't what you'd hoped, you still can fit in a retake.

You'll be fine if you take MCAT by May (even June is fine).

can I submit the application without the MCATs? or with an MCAT and then submit a new score if i retake it? and thank you for the reply.

Yes, you can submit your AMCAS application without an MCAT score. Once your MCAT scores are available, they will automatically be loaded on your AMCAS app.

i see i see, and when do the schools get it? As soon as my MCAT score is in? What would be considered a really early applicant. I am sorry for the questions I am trying to learn the process.

Yes, the schools are updated with your MCAT score as soon as it's available. As long as you submit your AMCAS app by 4th of July, I would say you are early.

An advantage of submitting AMCAS in early June, even without the MCAT score, is that it takes a few days to a week to get verified. By July, it can take a month, meaning schools won't get the appplication until August.

If you are not confident of your MCAT score, you can submit, initially listing only one school, so verification proceeds. After the score comes back, you can add others depending on how competitive the score is. The newly added schools get the entire application within one business day. The total cost is the same either way.

Good advice! 👍

Agreed. Except for SDNers, so many submit on the first hour AMCAS opens.😛
