What is the pharmacy model?

What is the pharmacy model? For example, the medical model is heavily focused on diagnosis and treatment based on a deep understanding of how the human body works. The nursing model is based on comfort and palliative considerations for patients. What is pharmacy's model for patient care? Is it another check on treatment?

Therapeutical.

While MDs focus on diagnosis, Pharmacists are trained to be experts on medications and how they interact with the human body/other medications ect.

The role of the MD and Pharmacist are complimentary. Pharmacists are *supposed* to advise and help formulate and carry out a plan for recovery/rehabilitation AFTER an MD has made a diagnosis.

The downside of many pharmacy jobs is that they often don't allow pharmacists to fully utilize their knowledge and abilities (though some jobs do exist that allow Rphs to work at the top of their licensed abilities).
