I have some stuff I would like to get organized...a page or so, but would like to start documenting everything. Is it similar to a resume format? I know these two things are similar yet intrinsically different. Can someone give me a general outline and stuff so I can start documenting the amount of tea bags I have recieved among other scholarly accomplishments?

Seriously, thanks for the sarcastic comments in advance, they are always a treat.

Seriously though I want to know.👍

Most program directors won't get their panties in a wad whether you are following a proper CV format or Resume format or some bastardized hybrid version of both. Keep it simple. Make it look good. Use proper headings/bold text/underlines/bullets where appropriate. List under each sub-heading things in order from most recent to oldest.

A general Format would be:
Name/Address/Contact Info
Education
Professional Experience
Research & Publications
Organizations
Licensure/Certifications
Languages
Hobbies/Personal Activities
References
Professional Activities

Its probably not a good idea to provide any links to your myspace page...

My CV is written in Crayon...

Esclavo uses a similar format except his typically is arranged chronologically to coincide with the births of his gazillion or so children.

Gary Ruska also uses a similar format, and those familiar with his postings can probably imagine what the subject headings look like...

U get the point...

What color crayon should I use?

I was thinking Sienna Brown or maybe black...this would be awesome to know.

Does your CV/resume include undergraduate org., clubs, ie., Predental club notetaker or any of that crap? Or is it a clean slate of dental school forward?

I heard doggie just copied down the words on the back of the KY jelly tube? Does this work?

The bold helps you guys cut through the crap...not like you would need practice, but just in case.

Been doing some more reading and noticed that many google searches provides templates that include:

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Date of Birth
Place of Birth
Citizenship
Visa Status
Sex

Optional Personal Information:
Marital Status
Spouse's Name
Children

Should this also be included in a CV for a specialty program? Are these things flexible or is there a set standard. It would be interesting to see all the pages on Esclavos 'children' section
Should i include my HIGH SCHOOL? What the crap? thanks guys.

Dont include any of that. Its not necessary. Go and get some info from the book they send out for all the aegd and gpr's. They have a sample CV in that.

Bifid has a good list. It's also a good idea to make it as easy to read as possible so don't get carried away with fancy fonts and formatting. It should look well put together, and there should be a logical format. You can find sample CVs online.

Just take a picture of your genitals. If your going into OMFS, you must have big genitals. I'm sure that everyone will agree.

Oh......why do you ask? Did your mom want the tube back?
