Hello everyone. I am a non traditional student with a low GPA and an upward trend (3.05 BCP and 3.1 ogpa). I haven't taken the DAT yet and I plan on applying May 2013. My dream school is UOP, and while that seems like a reach, I'd still like to try and apply there. People have suggested that I network with the school and have them get to know me. However, I live in Florida, so it's a little hard to get to California on a regular basis, but I would like to plan a trip there for the summer to see if someone will meet with me and talk to me more about what I should do to become a more competitive applicant for their school.

I emailed recently, but I received an automated email back stating that they only answer through email to students who are currently applying. The email said to call the school and gave the number. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on how I should approach the conversation when I call. Should I ask to speak to anyone in particular? And should I ask if they would be willing to meet with me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Call them and say you're interested in the school and knowing what you can do to get into their program.

Thanks! I called and left a message. If they don't call back, is it pestering to call them again?

you called UOP? Was it out of business hour or something? I called a few days ago and someone picked up. She was very nice (forgot her name). You should try again 🙂
