I'm sorry if this seems ignorant, but I'm not sure what the appropriate response to this situation is!

I have been accepted to LUCOM (Yay!) and was recently waitlisted at LMU-DCOM. I'm a TN resident so I'd love to stay closer to home, but I am also thankful for the acceptance at LU.
Right now I know the requirement is that AACOMAS needs to be notified of school attendance by May 15th. I already paid my seat deposit to LUCOM, but is it okay if I keep myself on the waitlist at LMU and maybe switch my attendance later in the summer if I am accepted off of the list?

I'm totally happy with my current situation at LU, I just want to know what my options are!
Thanks!

You're misunderstanding.
The policy is that after May 15th, AACOMAS tells institutions where you're currently holding an acceptance at. It is then up to the school if they want to rescind your offer. This applies only for candidates that have multiple acceptances and just hang on to them.

It has no bearing on a waitlist as you've yet to be offered a seat by LMU.

If you are accepted to LMU however, you'll need to decide quickly if you want to attend and turn down the acceptance at whichever school you won't be attending as soon as possible.

Ohhh. Okay, thank you so much! That's so helpful.
