What is the value in repeating question banks?

What is the value in repeating question bank questions? I figure I might as well stick with ComBank as I will only be taking the COMLEX so if I finish early (this entire question might be a null point) should I start repeating questions or switch question banks?

Is it right to assume that QBanks only test you on a small fraction of the possible things that could be tested... or do you think we will basiclly be seeing the same questions -or concepts asked by that question- over again on the real exam?

If you have money to burn I would recommend Comquest. Most would even say UW first and foremost but I think it depends on what your goals are with Comlex.

As far as the small fraction of stuff, yes. But the more questions you do the larger the fraction. Regardless, the general consensus is you'll see stuff on test day you've never seen before.

Is it possible to get 600 without UWorld?

It is possible but not to break your heart, the MAJORITY of students do combank, comquest or BOTH and the MAJORITY of those people score 500ish since thats the average. Now 600 you are talking the 90th percentile which means you have to be better than 90/100 people. If you and all 100 did comquest/combank, what are the odds that you will be in that top 10?

Is it possible? Of course, I know 2 people that have done it, but I know over 50 that have not and they were able to recite first aid and did both combank and quest last year. All the 600+ guys i know did at least SOME UWorld. The comlex questions are not as easy as the combank/comquest questions. If you take a comsae form youll get an idea. My advice, do at LEAST 500 UWorld questions if you want any shot at breaking 600. But then again, Im just talking logistics and statistics so obviously what Im saying hold no real value. Its simply an opinion.

Out of maybe 18 to 20 people Ive spoken to that have broken 600, all but 2 of them did both banks and the ones who stuck with comlex only scores were 606, 601. Personally I think you are in good shape with >550 either way. Take a comsae, see where you are. If you are not where you want to be with comlex specific banks, do 500 random timed uworld questions and I guarantee youll see a HUGE bump.

Whats your perspective on which COMSAE is a a better predictor? I plan on taking one COMSAE next week since my exam is on June 7, but havent decided B or C. Our school gave us D.

COMSAE is EXACTLY the type and style of what you are going to get from what I hear. Don't worry too much about the score but it will get you used to what to expect. Youll see how much tougher they are than combank/comquest. I would assume C is the best since its the most recent.

Obviously you would do better the second time on the question banks, but obviously cuz you learned it, not because you will remember all of the 4000+ questions.

I would recommend doing as many COMLEX-specific questions as possible. COMBANK and COMQUEST are equivalent. If you're looking to get more questions done in a shorter amount of time, COMBANK may be more appropriate as the explanations are shorter.

I would recommend doing as many COMLEX-specific questions as possible. The question stems and presentations for the COMLEX are much different than the USMLE. If you're looking to get as many questions done as possible in a short amount of time I would recommend COMBANK because the explanations are shorter.
