Have any of you tried to go to the website to download the electronic app? It says that this year's process will be "web-based" and not begin until June 1st!!

Does this mean that we will have to log on to the website and fill all our info out on the web? Won't their website be overly swamped that day if everyone tries to log on and get theirs in?
I thought that June 1st was the day to submit your apps, not begin them!

And they have absolutely no info about it on their website either. Anyone who knows what's going on please let us know before we all have to break down and call them and say "Whose bright idea was this?"

I have no idea about this year, but in the past you could get the electronic app on a disk. I remember getting one from my Pre-med advisor befor June (AACOMAS sent a couple disks to him along with the paper forms). I hated it so much, I went back and got the paper form.

I think you can still get the disk application this year. If your pre-med advisor doesn't have one, you can call AACOMAS at (301) 968-4190 and ask for the disk or the paper application. The disk really isn't that bad. It is much easier than the AMCAS application in my opinion. Also, your transcripts can be sent in now if you wish, so you can get a head start. You don't have to wait until June 1st. I know many people who had trouble with transcripts. This caused their interviews to be later, and it definitely affected their admissions. Good Luck!

That's exactly the point--it does not appear to be available. You see, I downloaded last year's electronic application and filled out most of it just to see what it was like. I have been waiting for the 2001 app to become available--but it has not--and according to the AACOM website, will not--be availble this year.

Take a look at it--they say they're going to be "web-based" only this year. That's why I got somewhat freaked out--the disk method (like AMCAS) seemed reasonable, but doing it web-only seems ridiculous.

In other words, I know what it was like in previous years. It appears things have changed. Anyone who knows what's going on please enlighten, because their website says that no further info is available until June 1st (!)--the date that people normally have their apps submitted (and thus finished!)
