so maybe my current surgery core rotation is putting me in a bad mood, but i am quickly learning that a lot of the interns, residents, doctors i have been working with are two-faced, backstabbing children. i am not into trashing others to boost my own self-worth. i am hoping this is just a fluke hospital thing or a surgery thing. for the past two weeks, i believed my intern was genuine. i always asked what i could do to help, took initiative, did what was asked. today, i saw a completely different side to her and am wondering if she has been setting me up at times. like the other day she told me i could leave at 3 pm. i said, are you sure? there was nothing to do and everyone was sitting around. she said definitely. so i left. then today she goes off on a tangent about another student who left early yesterday. i have no desire to do surgery whatsoever. i do not care about getting an honors pass. but i want to do my part to learn about surgery for intrinsic reasons. any advice on how to approach such people?
