what is uptodate

Can someone explain to me what is uptodate and why people use it during clinicals? Shouldn't review books + q bank + wikipedia be enough?

It's an online database of review articles on medical conditions- goes over diagnosis, lab tests, treatment, etc. it's expensive. The hospitals you're in will almost certainly have access if they're academic. It's not something you use to study, but instead something to help you look up your patients and formulate your plans re: ddx and treatment. Very useful in the clinical setting; not a step II study resource though. Hope that helps.
