What is URM?

I know that it stands for underrepresented minority, but what does that really mean and include?

URM, according tot he AAMC, includes: "including only African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, Native Americans, and mainland Puerto Ricans"

Trust me man, I am too. I feel your pain. But look around... so many Arab doctors! We're not underrepresented in the healthcare realm.

Physicians of Middle Eastern descent are extremely over-represented.

You will be happy to learn that Arab americans are well represented in the physician workforce. Arab IMG's alone comprise 1.5% of practicing physicians. This is a disproportionately large representation for their presence in the US population.
