it would be interesting to contrast the responses now to the responses after 1st year. relationships drop like flies when one of the two goes far away to medical school and gets a boatload of stress.

Absolutely single. Not looking because . . . well, what's the point? I'm about to move, and I've done the long-distance thing before, and it's torture. The status will change from "and loving it" to "and looking" as soon as I get settled in for the next 4 years 🙂

in a serious relationship that has been long distance since the beginning (1 year and still going strong)! I hope we can survive the extra strain of medical school.

In a relationship for 3 years, long distance for the first 2, living together this past year. It's gonna suck to do the long distance thing again, but I have faith.

And by that you mean... I've gotten shot down so many times I have given up women in favor of discussion boards about applying to medical school. Your user name verifies this :laugh:

Married for 6 😱 years! Just met Mr. Right bizzarly early in life, he just never screwed up to give me an excuse to ditch him . . . he was awesome and supportive during undergrad and the rest of this process so hopefully that trend will continue. Its nice when your stressin about exams to come home to a meal, a foot rub and some outrageous sex. 😉
 
Single and hating every minute of my horrible "freedom" 😛 But like everyone said, we're going off to med school, so now's not exactly the time to start anything. Not that it would change the situation.
 
Was in a relationship... as soon as I got into med school we broke up. She's in med school in new york... the distance thing wasn't going to work... rode the sinking ship as long as I could. We both saw this coming... anyways, let's play! :laugh:

me: relationship for 4 yrs now, currently long distance during our year off before med school(me in baltimore, she in CA). no clue what'll happen once med school starts.
