excersing more, finding a pharmacy tech job I will like, and getting accepted to a pharmacy school since this is my third year applying.

If your going to make resolutions, its important to be as specific as possible, its hard to say what one can accomplish in a year but it will be interesting looking back at this a year from now and seeing how close we came.

My goals as of Dec 25th at 3:29:15 pm
1. Get a good start first year (>3.7 GPA)
2. Make significant physical improvement (>250 bench)
3. Be a little more social (know more people)

I hate how the park where I run fills up with people for the first month or two of the year. Fortunately, almost all of them give up on their resolution within a few weeks.

I'm told that the same thing happens at gyms and fitness centers.

1. spend less time on useless websites like myspace.com
2. exercise more
3. drink less

Do better in O-chem II

1. get admitted to pharmacy school
2. get admitted to pharmacy school
3. get admitted to pharmacy school
4. exercise after stuffing myself blue during the holiday feast

to date more girls, meet more women, date more girls, and meet more women.

did I say that too many times? I want to date good people though, not some girl I see from the streets.

why would you want to date when you can pay up-front

1. find inner peace
2. eat healthy
3. exercise

Mine is to get to know my professors better. I need a stellar LOR! 😀

Girls are nothing more than a distraction and the wrong ones will suck every last penny out of your pockets. I only have 1 wish and that's to get straight A's this year.

My goals for 2008:

1. Lose the beer belly I got from my first semester and increase my bench max to 225+
2. Increase my GPA to 3.9
3. Get involved with research
4. Make and maintain more friendships
5. Read more
6. Go on more spontaneous road trips
7. And of course, I wanna quit biting my nails

I would like to exercise more and pickup a new hobbie.

I would like to find that one asian girl who will spark my life, you know.

I would like to find that one asian girl who will spark my life, you know.

BTW, what are you doing in the Pre-Pharm forum? Aren't you supposed to be Pre-Health? Speaking of your new year resolution, why would it be an Asian girl?

Anyway, my new year resolution is:
1. Riding on a stationary exercise bike for 30 mins/day or burn 500 calories/day and lose 6 pounds from 116 to 110 pounds
2. Save more money to attend pharmacy school
3. Pay off my credit card debt

Wow! I hope you're like 5'1 or something because that's really light. I'd have to get on my elliptical *sp?* for like 2 hours a day to catch up to you by the time I'm like 40! 😀

Anyway, New Year's Resolution:
1) Get into pharm school, obviously
2) Don't complain so much
3) Read more

1.Lose weight that I gained after moving to U.S
2. Manage to get A's in both orgo classes.
3. Improve my english even more

1. Improve my gpa for the next coming semesters before applying for pharmacy school.
2. Start studying for the PCAT.
3. Stick with my pharm tech job until graduation
4. Spend less time on games
5. Get laid

(1) run 1000 miles by the end of the year, finally get that 8 pack abs, swim 2 miles without tiring
(2) finish culinary school by June
(3) get into USC and UCSF (and finally make a decision)
(4) make enough money to buy a professional camera (anything better than the Canon Rebel XT)
(5) eat some awesome restaurants
(6) Finish my sterology assignment in my research lab
(7) finally get to work at a soup kitchen (havent done so since high school)
(8) Help my brothers transfer to good colleges

4. Spend less time on games
5. Get laid

Some would say that there is a negative correlation between #4 and #5.

In fact, I made a graph to demonstrate this for you:

Wow, why thank you. As if I didn't realize that. You are an effin' genius, has anyone told you that yet. If you're playing 10+ hours a day, you're probably not going anywhere soon. I am more in the 1 hour range. But your graph is kind of skewed. I would have put a max. x value of 5. So 4 hours would correlate to a 20% chance.

Sterling40, I'd like to introduce you to my good friend, humor.

I was being sarcastic in the first part of my post.

not taking any sides, but there's a popular saying that comes to mind in in times like these, "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit". something that you say which means that using sarcasm (= saying the opposite of what you mean to make a joke) is unpleasant and is not a very clever thing to do.

Why is Sarcasm the lowest for of wit? --> http://www.smh.com.au/news/big-questions/why-is-sarcasm-the-lowest-form-of-wit/2005/08/18/1123958169522.html

i hate sarcasm. if you want to make a joke, make it obvious that it is a joke. consider this a life lesson personally and professionally (you wouldnt use sarcasm on your boss OR your patients now, would you?)

What's wrong with you?😕 Are you high. There's a big difference between the internet and real life

TrjTraddie, I'd like to introduce you to Knickerbocker's good friend, humor.

how old are you? 10?

Funny, omnione! My school goals were also to get on the Dean's List each semester, with no C's. I did it this past semester - yeah! Hopefully Spring and next Fall, also!

As well, I just enrolled at a health club today.

And, I'm needing desperately to get out of the cold MN winter weather! Vegas, Texas, Florida, or Mexico is on my list for mid-January (exam proctoring, considered).

Get on the Deans' List, exercise more (hah!), go on at least one date, and go to Las Vegas.

1. Quit smoking
2. Save money for pharmacy school

I'm suprised no one else has said quit smoking! Am I in the minority here? Lol. I need to kick this habit already...

Exercise more (I go to the gym 4-5 times a week at the moment), eat better (less sugar), be kinder to my BF (lol), study hard in school!!!

1) Exercise more
2) Learn to play the guitar
3) Get my old truck up and running

You are hoping to get it up to 7-8 times per week?

"% chance of getting laid" is the dependent variable (chances of getting laid DEPENDS on the hours of gaming per day)...so it should be on the Y axis...hours of gaming is the independent, so should be on x axis

the more you know

I know that (I've done dozens of such graphs), but this one looked better with the axes the way they are.

Besides, it's just common convention, not an absolute rule for graphs.

Maybe because we're wise enough to never have started.😉

1) Be more fit... need the 6-pack back before school 😛
2) Eat healthy...
3) Wake up earlier...
4) Be more outgoing... more random road trips...

I think those are the big four...

fellow smoker here koni

i was wise enough to stay smoke free until I was 21 🙁

2 years later...

quitting (or attempting to quit) is definitely one of my resolutions!!!

the damn gum and patches are more expensive than the ciggs!

Just a thought, but what about prescription anti-smoking aids?

Yeah that happens to some. Well for me, since the day I started going to the gym several years ago, I became a hardcore gym addict ever since. 😀

Please tell me how this happened, I'd love to be addicted to the gym.

My resolutions are petty standard:

1. Consistently going to the gym
2. Eating better
3. Straight A's Spring semester...we'll see for Fall 08

I have a friend who tried the gum, patches, self-rewards, cold turkey... all failed. Then Chantix... From what I last heard, the prescription did work. Of course, it's all different for everyone but it probably won't hurt to try. You know the drill...

And to whoever posted something about being "wise" and not starting... Is that the same thing you tell the patients at your pharmacy or friends/relatives trying to quit?

Some people are exposed to smoking on a daily basis way before they are mature or old enough to make an intelligent, informed decision. Ultimately, it was still their decision but not everyone begins smoking as an adult.

I don't want to go off topic anymore, so, Happy soon-to-be New Years everybody!
