What kind of Board scores does for IMG interested in Plastics?

I am an IMG from St. Georges. I am interested in doing plastics and would love to stay in NY for my training?

What are my chances as an IMG?
What kind of board scores do I need?
What are the different programs that are offered in NY for gen surgery that can lead into a fellowship in Plastics?

And how long is the fellowship in Plastics?

It's pretty unrealistic to expect to compete for an integrated spot as an IMG. I would focus on getting the best general surgery spot you could & work that way. I was flipping thru some of the applications to our traditional plastic surgery program & there were some pretty solid applicants who had done the IMG thing & managed to parlay themselves into solid Surgery programs. If you do that & do a good job you can make yourself a realistic candidate
