Hi I am interesting in applying to some schools that have MD/MPH programs. I know for MD/PhD in addition to the typically activities expected out of MD applicants they are expected to show significant potential in research. I was wondering if the same is expected out of MD/MPH applicants and if so what kind of ecs would be good to look into?

Thanks

MD/MPH tends to be relatively similar in competitiveness to MD alone because you're not getting your education for "free" and you can often internally apply to the MPH program with high success rates.

However, if you're really interested in doing a dual degree from the onset, things related to health policy or public health endeavors might be looked favorably upon (working in a free clinic, interning at a health policy institution, writing articles about policy, etc).

Ask yourself why you're interested in pursuing an MPH degree, then do things that follow along that line prior to applying to medical school.
