What makes mdapps different from WAMC/MSAR?

So, it seems like mdapps is literally where md applicants post their med school applications. What is the point of this (not in a demeaning way, like seriously what is its purpose)? Isn't this what the WAMC thread on SDN/having an MSAR subscription is already?
 
Mdapps is more for documenting your cycle and experiences so that other people in the future can search schools they are interested in and hopefully learn something. WAMC is to recruit help from others in building your school list and understanding where your strengths and weaknesses are. MSAR is to help you build the school list by giving you objective information about schools like stats, requirements, class demographics, etc.
