If you wanna pursue a post grad residency upon graduation from pharmacy (Pharm.D. program), what matters?

I know some people say it matters which school you go to (the ranking, reputation, etc.) but do your marks also matter?

let's say student A goes to an unranked school but gets great marks

Student B goes to a highly ranked school but gets bad or lower marks in comparison

at the end of the day, all else considered, which student (A or B) is likely to get the job and who will get the first choice of residency positions?

there are more things to take into account than just simply grades and school rankings. as far as school rankings go, I don't think it's a huge deal but some schools are know to put better pharmacists out there than others. grades are probably important as they show your ability to handle a rigorous coursework, which is a testament to your intelligence and work ethic. beyond that there are many other factors to consider including internships, research, volunteering, extracurriculars, rotations, letters of rec, and most importantly the interview.
