Hi,

I know there are similar posts to this in the past, but since these are my top picks I would really appreciate any information you could provide specifically about these two schools. In addition to your stats, please explain why you chose that school in the end. All responses and help are appreciated!

Thanks,

Punchap

I was accepted to OUCOM on 2/11. My stats were: overall 3.41/sci 3.33 with a 29Q MCAT (VR11/PS8/BS10/WQ). I sent in my deposit, but haven't decided for sure if I'm going there (i've been accepted to a school that is within driving distance to home). But the main reasons for me to choose OU are that the people were amazing everyone I met was very nice. The interviewers seemed genuinely interested in me as a person. OU has a lot of international volunteer oppurtunities which is especially important to me. It is affiliated with a state university which has its own benefits. I like that there are 12(?) sites for rotations in third and fourth years and about everyone gets at least one of their top 3 picks. The faculty seems to really listen to the students and are always improving things. Plus it is a pretty well established DO school in ohio, which I'm a resident of. I was so impressed with OUCOM that I turned down interviews to Des Moines and Nova. Good luck :luck:

All very good reasons to come to OUCOM. I would like to add that if you don't like rural areas you will not be happy here. I think some people are surprised with just how country it is down here. That being said Athens is a great little town with friendly townsfolk, decent cost of living, and plenty of outdoor activities to get involved in. If you have any specific questions about OUCOM feel free to PM me. I will help you in any way that I can.
