Now I know all about the ranking but those don't necisarly imply how prestigous a school is.For example in undergraduate rankings Duke is #5 and Brown is #15,But Brown has more prestige than Duke.What are some Medical schools that turn heads when they are mentioned in a conversation.

everyone has such a stick up their ass, ill brave the oh so taboo topic of medical school prestige, its always going to be subjective, everyone has their own idea of prestigious medical schools and depending on actual knowledge of the topic, one could have wildly different answers, my list would be HMS, Yale, UMass, Hopkins, UCSF, UCLA, USC, Duke, Northwestern, Cornel, i feel these are all prestigious schools, but of course i will be attacked for forgetting blah, blah school or for adding USC or some ****

I highly doubt that an openly homosexual would ever be admitted to a great medical school,well maybe UCSF or Stanford

I think it's time to bring some evidence to the forefront.

If you look at the threads Jurmanium has started, you'll find an interesting trend. This was brought up previously, but I wanted to dig deeper. Besides the current gem, "What Medical schools are considerd prestigous", there is...

I know I'm still very far away from even applying to med school,I'm starting college in the fall and my dream is to one day attend a top 10 med school,preferably Harvard,Duke,Penn,or stanford.The thing is I don't want to be ignorant of all that is needed to get into these schools like I was in highschool,I really messed up my freshman year because I thought nothing of it.I know there's no room for that when applying to med schools.So other than atleast a 3.8 gpa and a high MCATs score what else do I need to get accepted to one of those schools.I want to start off real strong my freshmen year.

Get into a university first.

Once you get accepted, then you can make a sandwich board to wear that displays your achievements and "IMPLIES" the prestige of the med school that actually accepted you. Seriously. After you've worked for it, you can really go all out. It can be gilded, man. It can be encrusted in conflict diamonds. 😎

Yeah, and everyone knows you can't get into medical school unless you go to Harvard for undergrad. Even Yale grads have to go to the caribbean.
