What percentage of students due a General Residency?

I was having this debate with my roommate. He says its a lot more than you think...I was thinking in the range of 50 percent? What do you all think?

I was having this debate with my roommate. He says its a lot more than you think...I was thinking in the range of 50 percent? What do you all think?

If I remember correctly, around 20% of dental school graduates to on to specialty training, and another 20% or so complete advanced training in general dentistry (GPR, AEGD, etc.). Don't quote me on the exact numbers, but I'd be very very surprised if 50% of new general dentists are going into formal post-doc training.
