I know I know...this is a stupid question but I really am curious...

What else can a general dentist do outside of the things that are obvious to us laymans such as: fillings, crowns, and veneers?

A general dentist can technically practice the entire scope of dentistry to his/her hearts desire which includes: Restorative (drill, fill, bill, crowns, veneers etc), Prosthetics (Dentures, full, partials, fixed); Endodontics (root canals); Periodontics (Sc/Rp, surgeries); Pedodontics (treat kids); Oral surgeries (Exodontia, implants); Orthodontics (braces) etc etc. However, most general dentists usually pass on the more complex cases to specialists since it is not in their financial interests to pursue those cases.
