I bet we've all faced this question many times. But wouldn't it be more properly worded if it said:
"For God's sake, don't describe yourself. Describe the ideal person--wait don't describe a person at all-- describe some sort of god; one who is brilliant, funny, creative, experienced, driven, well-liked, flawless, and 100 times more compassionate than Mother Theresa. Please be sure to say 'I want to help people' about 19 times and don't forget to include the story about how while the other kids in the neighborhood were playing, you were sitting under a tree reading anatomy books with amazement. Please grossly exaggerate you community service experiences and remember, we don't care too much about this essay, we just revel in creating yet another hoop for you to jump through. Thanks for the $105 check. Sucker." 🙄

However, I also bring to the table a wealth of experience in rare, unusual and even embarassing situations. These experiences will enable me to not only understand but also empathize with my patients regardless of their own pathetic pasts and current situations. In building a rapport with my patients and with your staff I will be an excellent addition to your 2006 entering class.

I play a golf and have a wicked high handincap so when you accept me and I take you to the country club, I guarentee you will win. While at the 19th hole, I can show how much liquore I can hold and still be able to perform surgery.

I have already picked out the model and color BMW I will be driving once I am more successful that you and take over the AACOM and change the MCAT to an oral exam.

As you can see, I will make a good DO because I can kiss ass like the best to get more money, play Golf, and have cool goals.
