Hello everyone,

I'm starting my 3rd year rotations. In the past, I generally study well with question banks. Which ones do you guys recommend for shelf exams, ie psych, family, internal, surgery, etc?

I know there are a handful out there, including USMLERX, World, and Kaplan (any others?). I prefer to using questions that run on the computer rather than a book (pre-test). Which ones prepared you for the shelf exams? Thanks.

USMLE World, hands down... don't save it for Step 2. It's too good not to use for your shelf exams, especially Medicine. I did think the OB/GYN questions were somewhat weaker, although at most schools, you get access to the APGO questions, so you could use those also.

UWorld is the best by far.

After that, there's MKSAP for the Medicine Shelf.
The AAFP has online practice questions that work well for the Family Shelf. You can get access to them by joining the AAFP (for free).

(never tried UWise, but it gets good reviews)
