My boyfriend will be starting PA school in August, and his birthday is coming up soon. I would like to give him some helpful books/resources that will be useful while he's in school. I'm a 3rd year pharmacy student, and some of those "optional" texts have made a huge difference in my classes and on rotations.

What books or resources have you found particularly helpful while in school or on rotations? What is your go-to resource to look something up?

A Steadman's Medical Dictionary. Always helpful to get the lingo down.

Another free app to try is Canopy. Its a medical translation app that is very useful for rotations and residency, if you work somewhere with a lot of non-English speaking patients and if you're interested in healthcare for under-served populations. It has all the phrases you need for a basic H&P and for explaining procedures or doing morning rounds. Its phrases are translated into over a dozen languages and they are adding content all the time for other specialties. You can see a video about how it works here. Its free if you use the access code 4777 to unlock the app after downloading.
