What schools accept transfers from Carib. vet schools?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I met some transfer students at Iowa State when I was there.

I think that if you're considering transferring before you even matriculate, you're better off not going to the Caribbean. Take some more time to improve your application and reapply to schools in the US.

Davis doesn't take transfer vet students

Mizzou does have a few Ross/St. George folks around

Mississippi State accepts transfer students from anywhere, like most schools, only when a spot "opens up" from someone vacating their spot.

It is possible to transfer into the year you would be in at your original school, but there is both a waiting list and the requirement that your classes have to match up for the most part (I think every vet school that accepts transfers has similar requirements). We screw up a lot of people with that because we take Parasitology first semester freshman year, which tends to be earlier than the majority of schools.

We have two transfer students in our freshman class, one from Glasgow and one from St. Georges, and they both had to step back a year or two in order to be accepted.

UGA accepts very few transfers: only if a spot opens up because someone dropped out.

OKState has some Ross students... I can't say for sure if they're there for the fourth year stuff, or if they transferred sooner. I never really thought about when they came...

We know KSU does. I don't think CSU takes transfers from anywhere.

Anyone else?
We have a few students from Ross that come to Purdue for their clinical year.

The student who joined our class from RVC has to repeat a year. I believe she said she'd attended RVC for a year and a half. I know she had to take the finals for ALL our first semester classes in order to be admitted this semester.

I've met a St. George's student doing her clinical year, but I don't know of any Caribbean students that have transferred for anything other than clinics.
