my initial MCAT: 9P 2V 8B = 19L
second MCAT: 10P 8V 8B = 26M
GPA: 3.86 in bioengineering will be done with MS before entering med School

This year i am applying to medical schools.
I want to apply to MD school. and i am thinking about american and canadian schools.
Do you guys think i have chance to get in to american schools.

I also don't know how to apply to canedian schools! they are not on AMCAS application list. do i submit application directly to canadian schools?

Should i also shoot for DO schools?

The MCAT score is low, but you do have a shot to get in if your total package is excellent and you interview well, but a better MCAT score would really help. Get that up another 4 points or so, and the chances are much much better.

You can always try with what you have, but make sure you apply broadly to both MD/DO schools. With a low MCAT, you should apply to every school that accepts students scoring in that range.

Retake the MCAT. Apply DO and MD. You'll get into a DO school barring any negatives on your application that you didn't mention. A lot will depend on your state of legal residence as far as MD is concerned. You are most likely to get an MD acceptance if your state med school has a lower MCAT average or if there are a lot of schools and seats compared to the number of students seeking them.
