Hi, so I am looking for honest genuine advice so please spare the sarcasm or insults..
Excuse the long post!
So here goes: my undergraduate gpa is a 3.7, my science gpa is a 3.65.
I have one month left to complete my masters program and I am doing fairly well.
I have a major upward trend as I started off my freshman year with one C and two C+'s however I managed to get 4.0's in every class since then, I even delayed a semester to get my gpa up.
I have decent extracurricular activites, shadowing, clinical work, volunteer work, leadership, retail experience, as well as 6 months research.
My masters program is on neuroscience.
With that being said, I got a 497 on the new mcat(40%) and decided to apply anywyas(got rejected from everywhere), I then decided to try again during my masters program(bad idea) and got the exact same score(497-40%).
Okay so here I am, I really want to become a doctor and I have to honestly say that I should have focused more on the mcat because I do believe that I did not give it my all. The 2nd attempt,I planned to just void it however,my dont care attitude at that point caused me to score it (which I now realize was a big mistake).
I need genuine advice on if its possible to get into a medical school, how and what should I do from here on out.My concern is obviously my MCAT score and that even if I manage to do well then is it possible?
Please hold the whole change your career or path advice. Thanks! Sorry for the long post!

Seems like you're in too deep. Get some dedicated study time for MCAT and give it one last go. Only thing you could lose at this point is money and it seems like you're already in the red on that front. Spend the $400 (I don't remember how much it costs) and take it a final time. If you get the score you need great, if not you should consider other fields.

Kill the MCAT (easier said than done but it'll make your chances of getting accepted so much better) in order to complement the significant improvement that you displayed academically. You're up against students who have both upward improvement and above average MCAT scores. You know what you will have to do to get to where you want to go. Best of luck and check out studying tips on these forums! I personally LOVED examkrackers back in the early 2000's (simpler times) in order to boost my physical sciences scores. Best wishes on your career path

if I do well on the mcat, lets say around 510, would i still have a shot? or is it hopeless?
