What should I do next?

Do you have a prehealth advisor at your school? If so, definitely go in and talk to her about your plans.

And also go to a few prehealth club meetings. They should at least give you a timeline to follow as well as opportunities.

If you are thinking medicine, you need to get in and volunteer in a hospital or shadow a doc, just to see what the job entails.

a 3.9 GPA? what do you have to worry about?
on a side note, Genetics is not hard at all as long as you put in the time and readings.
GPA is never the hard part for some people...

I currently have a 3.9gpa although I'm supposed to be starting the hard classes this semester (orgo + genetics).
Physics Tutor at my school.
