What should I do with destroyer???

I just got the destroyer today. I am taking the DAT in 9 days. Should I postpone the DAT, or just try to go through as much of the destroyer as possible?

Well, you are coming down to crunch time. You need to be honest with yourself and decide which areas you need the most work on. Do those first, but be sure to go through all sections at least once. Also, focus on learning the solutions and not learning the questions by rote. What I mean is learn why the correct answer is right and why the wrong answers are wrong. Good luck.

It's plenty of time as long as long as you stay focused and not get distracted....I went through it in one round in 4 days and am giving myself the next 4 days to go over the ones I didn't quite understand. good luck and study hard! 🙂

Thanks. I was very confident with all sections with kaplan. Now I take top score tests and I get about 18's on the sciences. I need to boost that to 21 or 22 in the next 9 days.

Honestly, some people work well in little-time + heavy material concentrations... Im not one of them, I like to take my time and underestand things,

If this was me, and I had the DAT in 9 days and today was the day I got my destroyer, I would postpone it for another 30 days (starting today)

Well, I'd agree with you if you had no background in studying. He said he's been studying for 2 months at 8 hrs a day. Destroyer is something you go through to look at what you don't know because they are very conceptual and go over key material. I went through the bio section in destroyer in a day and I've read other posts where they spent a week on it. I guess it's how well you know your material.

Trust me you want to push off the DAT's till you become conferrable with the Destroyer wats the worse that could happen if u take a week a two later you could only increase your chances of receiving a higher grade and the destroyer is worth pushing off a week or two!

Just thought I'd let everyone know that "mailman" is a genius. He will smoke the DAT whether he postpones or not. He's also freaking amazing at basketball...hence the name "mailman." He taught Karl Malone everything he knows and will soon be working on his teeth too.

haha nothing is wrong with you...I've been teaching general bio at berkeley (assisting in labs and such) for the past year so I'm REALLY comfortable with classifications, genetics, anatomy, and embryology and have been taking a lot of ecology//endocrinology//repro classes so bio comes easier to me. As for ochem, I always enjoyed it since it actually isn't something you just memorize like the Nernst Equilibrium Equation but it ACTUALLY makes sense....it's just gchem that took me 2 days to go through 😡 I'm still going through it a second time though...and the gchem is STILL taking forever to go through lol...good luck studying! 👍

I would postpone it just because if you go over the destroyer as much as you can you'll most probably get a better grade then u would. I remember some guy wrote on his post that he was glad he got the destroyer and went through it rite before he took his dat because their were questions on his exam that he would never have known if he hadnt went through the destroyer. i mean it really depends on how ready you feel. But i wouldnt think its a big deal to postpone a few weeks. Good luck!

Just take the Destroyer practice tests. If you are getting at leas 80% of the correct then you can take your chances with DAT. If not, I would advice to really put some time into studying from the Destroyer and then taking the DAT. Destroyer is a great book. I am starting to study from it right now and it`s been helping me a lot. It makes actual test questions less difficult and less surprising.
