I need to take more science classes to boost my GPA. Should I retake some of the classes that I did poorly in, or should I take completely new upper-level science classes? I'm afraid if I repeat, the ADCOMS will say, "Well of course he did better the SECOND time around..." or something to that effect. The sequence I did really poorly in is Orgo. Any thoughts would be appreciated...

how poorly are we talking? if it's less than a C, retake it. if not, do really well in upper level classes. you gotta give us some stats. what's your GPA and BCPM GPA? what did you get in the classes you did poorly in and are thinking of retaking?

If you got less than a C in orgo, you should probably retake it. Some schools won't accept a grade lower than C in the pre-reqs.

What musiclink said. If you got a D or worse, you have to retake them.

How much time do you have left in school? I would suggest taking upper-division courses with imposing titles and kicking butt and taking names in them.

ya, i agree. med schools like to see improvements, so even if u did kinda bad (unless its below a C) then u are better off taking upper divs and doin well in them. When i did bad freshman yr, my counselor told me the same thing, to just do well in upper divs. (personally tho, i havnt got any acceptances yet so dunno if my advice is good or not haha)

I got a B and two Cs in my three quarters of Organic to answer your guys' questions. Thanks for the advice....keep it coming!
