My scenario
Undergrad science gpa 2.9
Undergrad non science gpa 3.3
One year degree program in cytology gpa 3.7, one very bad grade in intro to pathology (D+)
I have taken the DATs twice with very bad results of 16 both times, with a better science score the second time (17) but the PAT and math brought me down.

I will be retaking the DATs a third time in March 2010, and will reapply in June 2010.
I have 500+ hours of experience in the field of dentistry

My question should I retake the pathology course?
Will the bad grade and everything considered what are my chances of getting in?

Take 2 or 3 months off from work and study for the DAT like your life depended on it. Take a Kaplan course and use any other prep materials you can find. Do all of the Kaplan practice materials four times. Then you should get a decent DAT score and a better chance at a lower ranking dental school. Otherwise, apply to on of the foreign ADA accredited schools.

It's all about raising your DAT score at this point, I think you would need to be in the 20+ range even if you had extra supplemental things for your app
