My exam is in 4 days and I feel like I'm not ready yet.
If I just decide to take this test and not get the scores I like, I'm going to have to wait til mid October to retake the test.

So my question is should I just postpone the test or just take this one and retake it in October? And if I DO retake it in mid October, wouldn't that be just too late??

I'm freaking out right now....... and I need some advice!!!!!!!

HELP!

Yeah I took the achiever tests... they were nowhere close to 20's
Especially the science sections (GC and OC) were very low, like 15, 14...

Heyyyy mine is in 3 days!!! 😱
You have one more day than I do!!!
Let's cheer up! We can do this!!!😍👍

i think you probably should postpone it because if it were me, I wouldn't want to risk having to study for the test all over again and having such late dat scores.

postponing it 1-2 weeks to get a slightly higher score > possibility of getting a low score + retake

Have you tried the sample DAT on the ADA website? From what I've read, most people's Achiever scores are low going into the exam but I could be mistaken. This could just be nerves! My exam's Thursday and I'm a complete wreck!! So don't worry, I feel ya!!

Note that the free sample DAT's GC & OC are a joke. I think Bio is on par though. I would recommend still taking it since it's such a confidence booster.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to postpone it. I can't afford to get low scores since I would have to wait til october to retake it... That would be too late. I agree with tdh278. I should just do it right the first time and not have to worry about retaking. I feel much more relieved now ... hew! Since I have more time, I should also try the sample DAT from ADA too!!!!!

yay!! more studying!!!

lol ! good choice, i wouldv'e done the same. when did you end up rescheduling for?

Someone on here posted that they were getting 16, 17 on GC and OC on Achiever, and on the real thing they got a 22 AA and over 20 on both GC and OC or something much higher from what I recall. Topscore is supposed to be a better representation of the real DAT.

I will be taking it on Aug 9. Hopefully I will be ready by then. lol I should definitely try Topscore instead of Achiever.... Achiever really put my confidence down... I felt so stupid after taking that test.

I have to agree, Achiever is not a good indicator of your actual score. I took the DAT today, got 22AA. I took all 3 achiever tests and never scored close to a 20. You should really try taking a topscore test. The questions are close to the difficulty of the questions on the actual exam. I was going to postpone my test from today but I decided not to because even though I was not 100% prepared I figured i wouldn't have been able to do anything else to cram more information. You really can't know every single detail. If you think that more time would help you and that you would not do well at the point you are know, you should consider postponing. But for me I think I overestimated the exam and underestimated what I knew. Also, a lot of the material I was going over was consolidated only a few days before my test. If you end up taking it, I recommend that you know your concepts rather than small details.
