I'm currently a sophomore in college. My last semester wasn't good at all due the fact that I got a C in my Bio course and I think that I will receive a C in my Chem course as well as the Lab that I took with it. My living arrangement made me feel so stressed out the fall semester, and seeing the outcome of that stress is only making me feel more disappointed in myself🙁. I feel like I have really put a damper on my chances of getting into Med School(though I wanna think that still have a chance to prove myself). In this upcoming spring semester I'm planning on taking an extra bio course, which is upper level and 3 credits, to hopefully make up for my failure in the fall semester(assuming that I pull an A). But I have the choice of taking another course which is only a 100 level course, but it is 4 credits. If I get an A in the course, it will boost my grade even more than the upper level Bio class. Which one should I take? Or should I just retake the chem and/or bio classes? Have I really screwed up my chances for Med School? Sorry for such a long post -_-;;.....

I can't comment on which course you should take, but I will say this: you have certainly not ruined your chances for medical school, especially if you have no trepidations about about going to a DO school (they allow grade replacement, so you can retake the bio and chem and try for higher grades). Remember, this is a very difficult and consuming process, but if you work as hard as you can, and if this is truly what you want to do, you shouldn't give up too easily. Plenty of people get in with Cs, so as long as your GPA is >3.5-3.6 by the time you apply, you definitely have a shot.

Getting a couple of C's isn't a big deal. Now of course, you don't want too many. If you didn't do so well in your bio course, are you sure that you can do well in an upper-level bio course, which will most likely be more challenging? Its better to see where you went wrong and how you can fix it. And you still have plenty of time to bring your GPA back up, so don't panic and work hard in the spring.
