My undergrad is a BS in Biology so I'm considering an MS in something Biology related to improve my application...but I've also been reading about a master's in Public Health. (My concern with that one is what would I do with it if dental school doesn't work out for me ? I don't want to end up paying student loans for a useless degree)

So which one would be the better option ? MS in Bio or an MPH ? Also, what exactly could I do with an MPH ? the school websites don't give a straight answer.
thanks in advance 🙂

You would be shocked how many high paying public health jobs there are out there; it is by no means a useless degree. However if you decide for the MS in biology/biomedical sciences, make sure you work in some labs and you will be very marketable after that program. Personally I know that dental schools like to see people with graduate level courses under their belt, so either route, MS/MPH are both good choices.

I would suggest finding a school with a masters in Oral Biology program. I know many of the dental schools are associated with these types of programs. Not only can you learn a lot of what you will learn in the first two years of dental school, you will more often than not, have an opportunity to engage in some sort of research relating to dentistry or oral bio. These kinds of programs benefit you in more ways than one.
