okay so I need to take physics next year and my school offers two choices, general physics with calculus and general physics without calculus.... which one should I take. I am a biology major and I am not required to take the calculus based physics. However, I don't want to look like a slacker taking it without calculus when i could have taken it with calculus.

also, when you apply to schools do you have to have already taken all of the required courses or can you indicate that you are planning to take a certain course at a later time?

Thank you so much!

Take it without calculus tbh. For physics I I took the algebra based physics and got an A. For physics II I took the calculus based one (due to a scheduling conflict) and made a C. School's won't hold it against you if you decide to take the physics course without calc.

You don't have to have all the pre-reqs done when you apply. Just make sure you have them done before you actually start dental school and you're good.

Thank you so much! one more question, how many hours of shadowing/ volunteering should I shoot for? I have about 40 isn of shadowing but my volunteering so far is kind of low. I plan on doing a decent bit this summer while I'm woking on undergraduate research.

thanks!

For shadowing 100+ is a good number. Some schools have a minimum amount of shadowing hours they require so check the website of any schools you're interested in. As far as volunteering and EC's go I had about 450 hours worth, but again check with your schools as some have minimums in this area too.
