What state to get licensed if no job offer yet? help!

I go to school in PA, but only have about half of the 750 outside hours you have to earn and I'm from NY, but it's too late to sign up to take the compounding exam. I was thinking ohio because I'm not far from the PA/OH border and it would be a short move, but if I register to take NAPLEX in ohio should I have them transfer my score to other states in anticipation of maybe getting a job there later on like PA, NY, Virginia, etc...?

Someone who works for the ohio board of pharm sent our class an email saying it's $75 to transfer your score when you sign up. Does it cost more to transfer it after you take the test? Why do they want you to pay up front beforehand? I don't get it.

The cost to get your score sent immediately is way cheaper. The cost to get the NABP to send your scores later is a few hundred dollars, and you need to keep your original license.

I originally got licensed in state A. 2 years went by and then I wanted to get closer to my family and got a licensed in state B. I will always have to keep my license in state A active, if not my license in state B is invalid.

Or you can retake the NAPLEX (and law) to get a new primary license.

As long as you get a primary NY license (pass law and compounding), that is fine.

This is wrong for a lot of states. The license you got in state A would be a "by exam" license and would be eligible for reciprocation. The license in state B would be by reciprocation and would probably still be valid if state A was dropped, but if you needed to get an license in state C you would have to retake the NAPLEX. Of course, this only applies to states that reciprocate which usually excludes NY.

I'm confused to why in PA you can't just finish your intern hours somewhere else, but instead they want you to work a full year before coming back. I only need a few hundred more which would only be a couple months of full time work...

I am pretty sure the score transfer to Ohio counts as a "license by examination" and not reciprocity. So you'd be both licensure by examination in OH and NY if you complete all the other requirements to be licensed.

This is wrong. Details for score transfer are clearly outlined in the nabp naplex bulletin. You should review it carefully.

I graduated and am planning to take a two month break (for personal reasons) and then come back to take the exam. I've already started to look for jobs, but no offers in my state yet. Where I live, it is a bit saturated and I'm not sure if I will be in the state for work. Should I get licensed here anyway?
