Just wanted to find out from anyone who feels that there are certain subject that are covered by first aid that dont need any extra sources. I am just trying to keep my resources to a minimum and not spread myself to thin.

For Path I am using the Goljan Notes that Dr. Goljan himself gave us at Kaplan and he actually said to use that and throw away the Kaplan text written by Doctor Barone,

I am also going through the Kaplan Videos and using the Kaplan books as an outline.

But mainly just wanted to find out anybody elses opinion on what First aid covers enough.

Thanks!!!!

In my opinion, First Aid is all you need for:

DEFINITELY ALL YOU NEED FOR:
Anatomy
Embryology
Histology
Pharmacology
Ethics and biostatistics (provided you understand the ratios/formulas)
Biochemistry (in my personal experience and opinion)

PROBABLY ALL YOU NEED FOR:
Microbiology & Immunology (but I supplemented with BRS)
Biochemistry (some supplement with High Yield MCB, I did not)
Behavioral Science (but I supplemented with BRS)

NOT ENOUGH FOR:
Pathology/Pathophysiology (I used BRS)
Physiology (I used BRS)

I agree with above poster except for biochemistry ( i think you need way more than that), immunology (definitely need another source). There are a couple of pages in the guide on gotmedbooks.com, towards the end that have a chart regarding this question.

I noticed First Aid is pretty light on anatomy overall, while Qbank is very heavy. Is USMLE as light on anatomy as First Aid is?

When you say First Aid is all you need for histology, where exactly is histology in First Aid? The High Yield Images?

On my test I would say I had about 1 gross and 1 neuroanatomy question per block. I would review basic limb anatomy (mainly innervation) and maybe GI blood supply. If you spend 1 hour doing that you will probably get most of the questions right (at least if your breakdown is similar to that of me and my friends).
