When I registered to take the DAT I had not done much research in what I needed to do etc... so when it asked which schools to send it to I thought you put the schools you are applying to pretty much... I didnt know the scores automatically go to AADSAS... this feature is just to schools who require DAT scores directly to them right?

Nope...I did almost the same thing.

I registered for the DAT and selected the schools I wanted the scores sent to. Then about a couple weeks later they came out with the new policy about the scores being uploaded and not having to pay...

It really sucks.

RELAX, you got it mixed up...
ADA will charge you when you go pay and they'll send a little slip for you, i remember you said you are writing in aug. that means you won't have to pay a penny to send scores, b/c you are paying a 285 registration fee, which covers DAT to be sent to all schools FOR FREE.

The OP already registered and shelled out the money. From what they told me, the ADA won't be giving refunds for this...although they should.

I already registered for my DAT about a month ago and selected 5 schools for the score to be sent to, I wanted to add 5 more schools and maybe take away one of the ones I previously picked--is this possible? Will I be refunded in any way? If not, should I just add the new 5 schools under the "REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL DAT SCORES" form on the ADA website?

According to the 1st post, does it mean that I did not have to choose schools from the ADA DAT registration list, will AADSAS automatically send the scores to my designated schools??? What should I do?

Sorry man, ADA will not change your 5 school designations after you already paid. AADSAS will print your score on the application itself when they mail it out. It is up to the schools whether they will take the score. Some are okay with this, but some are not. So, call them individually and ask. You might have to shell out some more $$ to send in additional score report to those that request "official" scores directly from ADA.

same here, i paid to the schools already and wasted a lot of money, i shoulve waited but then i didn;t know they were gonna make changes....there goes my money. No refund, they said. bummer.

oh well i donno if it makes you guys feel any better but everyone else until this year paid for that ridiculous amount of money to send out DAT scores =\

although it was lot of money, it is still fairly small compared to importance of schools actually receiving your scores and getting into the field of dentistry (in other words you won't have to worry about some of schools not accepting DENTPIN DAT scores)

so the 25$ is only for schools that request an additional official copy of DAT scores right?

if we dont pay anything, all of our designated schools will still be able to see electronic versions of our scores?
