Hey! .. so there has been some debate and I'm just wondering if I should bring a nice binder/briefcase/purse to my interview with me? I'm a girl and will need my phone for sure (I will keep it completely shut off during the interview, but my dad is picking me up so I need it to call him when I'm done!!) Other than that, I would just have some paper and a pen to write anything down, plus maybe some questions to ask. Advice please 🙂

I think bringing a binder/briefcase is a bit much to an interview, it may leave the interviewer wondering "What exactly do you have in there?". Maybe they'll think this person is unprepared and needs all these extra materials to brush up right before the interview, which is very unprofessional. Bring a small simple purse with your cellphone and maybe a small mirror and a pen and that's the most you should need. They will already have all of your info at their disposal, just prep yourself and try your best. Good Luck!

All I would take with me is some type of padfolio like this where there is a letter pad inside for you to take any notes (such as during the financial aid session) and a pocket for you to hold any loose material they give you (tuition info, school info, etc). Otherwise it may look odd for you to just be carrying around loose sheets of paper in your hand all day or a gigantic briefcase.

I think a padfolio + purse for personal items is your best bet. A briefcase would look ridiculous. You're an interviewee not a businesswoman 😛.

Yep, all I'm bringing is my black leather padfolio w/pen and paper and a small black wristlet to put my phone and wallet in.

You really don't need a padfolio either-- every school will give you a folder with information inside them (financial aid, school info, sample syllabus, etc). I just wrote on the back of the papers if I needed to write anything.. but there wasn't much I needed to write down apart from what was given.

Good info to know! Which school(s) did you interview with and when?
