what is everyone doing. I was thinking of doing some research -- but -- i have also have the chance to tour europe for 1.5 months....i am thinking of some competitive residencies -- think it will hurt going to europe instead of doing some research? thanks

go to europe. a month and a half isn't enough to do any serious research anyway.

Go to Europe. The summer between 1st and 2nd year is the last real vacation you'll ever have. Save yourself from burning out and take advantage of the free time!

What they said. Have some fun and relax.

Yet another vote for the European vacation. You have to take time to enjoy yourself sometime, and the summer between 1st and 2nd year may be your last chance for a while.

Go to Europe, my vote goes to the Balearics or the Greek Isles!
Don't sweat it too much.
You'll get another big break your 4th year.

I suggest doing a british and germany beer drinking tour followed with the french cheese tour

Easy choice:

EUROPE!!!

  :horns:

I would go to Europe, but I'd also suggest doing some research at some point. If you really end up wanting a competitive residency, it will really hurt you if you don't have any research.
