So i'm interviewing at Nova on the 20th and I decided to stay in town for a few days as somewhat of a break in between semesters.

For those that have visited already or live in the area what are some things I can do to occupy my time? Any must see places? Restaurants? I'm not American legal yet so unfortunately I can't enjoy the clubs. I heard that Las Olas Boulevard is worth checking out. What's the best way to get around?

Anyone else interviewing on the 20th?

Thanks in advance.

I am!

But I am leaving right after!

I live not too far from Nova, so I can at least tell you what to see. During the day, the obvious choice would be Ft. Lauderdale beach. It's Florida, so it is always beach weather, and the beach will be packed with people since plenty of northerners come down during the winter months. There's also a whole bunch of restaurants and stores that line the beach so you can just walk around and check those out. At night, you can go to Riverfront. I don't know if you are renting a car or not, but this should be no more than 10 minutes away from the school. It is less than a mile east off of Broward Boulevard. I don't know why you can't go into clubs yet if you aren't American, unless you are under 21. But Riverfront has a bunch of bars and clubs that will be very busy. If you have a car you can head about 20 minutes south to the Aventura Mall- it's huge and basically has any store you could need. About 20 minutes further south and you can go to South Beach- which is an awesome place to go to at day or night. You can go to the beach there- a bunch of streets to walk around on (Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road, Washington Avenue off the top of my head), and again a bunch of clubs to go to at night. There's great restaurants all over the place, but that all depends on your budget because some are expensive.
Last place I would suggest is the Hard Rock, which should only be about 15 minutes or so away from the school. You can go there and play poker, or can go to the bars/clubs/restaurants there. It's a hotel, so you can always expect it to be busy with people.
The best way to get to all these places would be renting a car, otherwise it will be quite a decent amount in cab money.

Mia, thanks a lot. That's exactly what I was looking for.

And yeah, I'm still 20 so thumbs down..

I love the Aventura and Bal Harbor malls - I visited them everyday when I vacationed in Miami, back in May.

withdraw your application 😉
