So I took the MCAT today...and felt that I got my ass handed back to me on a platter. I'm really just hoping to get at least 10's in each section, but I don't know if that will happen. I can't believe I spent over 4 hours a day for 4 months and felt like I did so badly. I didn't void though because I wanted to know my score. What would you do in this situation? Would you just forget about it and wait until the scores come out to decide you needed to retake? Or would you start studying and looking for another spot right away? How do you get over feeling depressed about doing badly, and picking yourself up to start studying again? I feel like I wasted so much time, and I just don't feel like going through the ordeal again.

My GPA is not so hot so I need a good MCAT. Also, I plan on applying this summer so I really need to sort this out.

Feeling this after the exam is really normal.. you should go out today and have some fun you deserve it .. force yourself and your friends and find something fun...
Regarding the exam, my feelings after finishing each section where really close to what i got on the exam. Again its my feelings after each section and not after the exam because after the exam the negativity just kept doubling and doubling with time until i got my score.
Anyways you cannot do anything right now to change what happened whether it is positive or negative , have faith in yourself . You put some good effort in it and you should be proud

I was just asking about this in the 4-13 thread. I'm kind of in your situation too. I think I will hold off on retaking unless I get like below a 28. At this point, I'm just going to switch focus and start working on my application. There's no use in deciding what to do until after receiving our scores and even then, I've dedicated too much time to hold off applying for another year.

First things first, I'm off to celebrate because it's over and done with. No need to ruminate over it, at least not today. Go out and have some fun. It was a hard test, but you did it. Just remember, if this was an easy process, everyone would be doing. The fact that you are, and many others aren't, speaks volumes about your character. Hang in there!

Well said. I think that I'll be focusing on getting my app together mostly and do some very light studying/review in case I have to retake.

Honestly, if you're done with the MCAT, time to let the brain relax for a day or two. Find yourself a nice bottle of pinot grigio, because no amount of stressing will change your score.

Have some FUN!!! Sleep in. Stay up late. Reassess once you get the email saying your scores are up, and deal with it when it comes. If you did end up scoring lower than you'd like, the last thing you'd want would be to enter into that situation already stressed out from worrying. And who knows, you might have done just fine! Almost everyone feels wracked by doubt after the MCAT. Take some deep breaths and hit the beach / bar / couch, whichever strikes your fancy most!
