Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone else has this experience of not hearing anything from some programs?? Are they really not going to reply? I am really flabergasted (sp?) that they would not even extend the common courtesy of replying to my application with a yes or no. I would rather be rejected than have no response.

I spent valuable time, energy, and !MONEY! in applying to every single program, with careful consideration, and I think I deserve (we all do) at least some kind of reply/respect!

After I get my residency position, I plan to write some letters and let them know how I feel. It's just not fair and they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it.

Let me know what you think!

Thanks! 🙂

i agree... it's so inconsiderate...
i still haven't heard from a handful of programs...
not holding my breath for them at this point...

yep, you have a very good point, a simple no would be appreciated. We spent time and money, they at least should answer back.

yeah, I really cannot believe how un-professional some of these places have been.... i would write letters to the places that never responded to me, but frankly, I don't want to give those places another second of my precious time. furthermore, I don't know what good writing a letter would really do.

Agreed with all of the above as to the down right rudeness of progreams that can't even be bothered to send a reply after people have gone to the trouble and expense of applying. If I were you I'd just write those programs off the list. At this late date even if they offered an interview, you'd have to evaluate whether you want ed to spend more time and effort on such an inconsiderate program!

Although at this point of time,it does not matter much. But at least two programs who did not respond to my application, but had sent their batch of rejections to others, were actually holding my application. When I emailed them enthusiastic letters and asked for interviews, I got positive replies and interviews too. And I am not an American Medical Graduate. I am an IMG.....guess some tricks work for us too...hope this helps
