What would you do in this "theoretical" situation:

You get an interview invite several weeks before the interview date.

You drive approximately 500 miles in a rental car one day before the interview. You are now less than 50 miles from the hotel you have booked in the city of the interview. You get a call just before 5pm saying that they want to cancel your interview because of additional records sent by PharmCAS.

After mentioning that you have nearly driven to the city, they say that you can still interview if you want. What would you do?

.....not sure if this would happen lol

Why would you drive 500 miles in a rental car?

"Back to school, back to school... To prove to dad I'm not a fool. Got my backpack on, my shoes tied tight, hope I don't get in a fight."

I suppose I would try to evaluate what I think the reason is for them canceling. You must have some idea what these "additional records" are? If you think it is something you could overcome (say low grades), then I would say go for the interview. If it is something like you failed the background check due to drug abuse or something like that, I would say go home.

Since I have no idea what the thing is on your PharmCAS that turned them off, I can't really say what I would suggest.

Probably the most annoying quote ever...especially since you post it on every single thread you reply to.

I would say **** off. and drive off into the sunset.

"Additional records?" Did you at least call and ask what kind of records? As to if you should still go, they just pretty much rejected you by canceling the interview. If it were me, the only reason I would go is to demand an explanation and show them my gas bill.

I would go. This is your chance to change there mind about you. Ask about your records and provide a good explanation to defend yourself but tell them you still deserve this interview by giving them your best at the interview. If you drove all that way, there is nothing to lose. But I feel getting angry and taking it out on them will completely ruin your only chance at redemption. Good luck! You never know, maybe you'll change their mind and a reason to reconsider you.

I don't think school "cancel interviews". Worst case scenario, they might already have a bad impression on you when you come to an interview but never cancel one. sometimes applicants might cancel other interviews because they received an interview at said school, if said school was to chancel, then they would be under liability issues.

That was a really rude thing to say.

It is my signature, kind of goes along with my username on here.

You could have just asked nicely. No need to be so rude and dramatic.

Dude, put whatever you want on your signature line. Just figure out how to do it the right way. I remember reading on one of your posts that you can not get it right because of the computer you use. Go to the library and use a public computer, go into your account settings, and fix your signature.

When you do not do it the right way, it looks like your quote is part of your post and that confuses people. It really is not hard to get your signature made, just do it!

Anyway - I was never really a big fan of Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore. I remember when I was about 13 years old, I purchased the "There all going to laugh at you" CD which was truly epic. That CD changed my life..

Here is my personal favorite.

The only reason there is all this negativity is because you put your quote into your post. Its confusing. Just put it into your signature and there wont be anymore negativity.

It is not a matter of ease/difficulty, it is that it is not an option. I am pretty sure the computer is not the problem. That would be silly. I am saying that the web browser version of this site does not allow me to make a signature, while the iPhone app does.

However, apparently, when I use the iPhone app my "signature" just looks like part of my post. Which I didn't know would happen. I am kind of new here... Not getting the warmest welcome either.

OK I think I get the confusion. Billy changed it from "Posted from my <whatever>" to the sig he wanted. That isn't the normal way to do it and I agree that it doesn't look awesome.

His signature has been updated (but will NOT show up on the mobile version of the app!) so he can change the mobile default to being nothing or to whatever else he wants.

I think it is fair to say there was a slight over-reaction to being new to a forum...😉

:welcome:

I gave you a good welcome! I was attempting to relate to your interest in Adam Sandler. His first album is easily his most epic media ever created.

Well, I do need to grow thicker skin... my grandma always said I was a sensitive soul 😳

And, BTW, I am a SHE

Dang my username is going over like a lead balloon... May just make a whole new account at this rate! LOL

Nah it just got off to a rocky start, sometimes these things take time. It took a while for people to understand that owle is properly spelled with an e. Sometimes people still get it wrong. 😉

Have u tried editing your signature on the regular website instead of sdn mobile? I remember u had the same problem as I did regarding the sig. I think it might work for u now and u can add the quote under signature so people don't think u post up the quote every time u comment.

Hey I noticed you are going to attend Roseman, is that correct? I am going for an interview there next month! I hope I get acceptance, since Midwestern Glendale is being a bit nit-picky about pre-reqs with me. 🙁
Overall, during my interview, I liked MWU-Glendale... just a bit grumpy about the conversation I had with my advisor today and the prospect of having to pay for 4 more credit hours before even beginning their program.

Sorry if I come across as rude. I am just blunt and do not pull any punches. I have never had a filter and years of the military have added to that.

He's actually a very happy guy 🙂

Thanks! Hope I see you before finals are over.
