So I was accepted to a DO school about two weeks ago. Lately I've been finding that I am coasting this semester. Like not putting forth serious A effort. Is that an issue?

Like I don't plan on doing bad, but now that I've been accepted, do I have to still be super neurotic and stressed out over my grades? Like is anything in the A to B range fine?

I know it can cause issues with admissions committees if I suddenly start making a bunch of C's, but will As and Bs be fine?

I really don't want to spend the next year super neurotic and stressed out even though I've already been accepted.

Cs get degrees. They aren't going to rescind an acceptance for passing. I also suggest stop stressing over grades for the rest of your life. Yes I agree premed required it, but medschool preclinical grades don't matter. Soooo chill out and have fun. Congrats

Wait, so coasting is okay? Lol

I'm actually happy that I already have my undergraduate degree lol.

But yeah, just passing is fine, that what they said in the requirements? As long as you don't fail any classes.

It says no less than 75% completion of credits for a bachelors degree, the pre-requisites and an MCAT. I should probably call and verify that though

which mean you needs to complete the requirement towards your bachelor degree up to 75%, not 75% letter grade in each courses.

lol I'm going to complete the degree, I just want to make sure I can take it easy before I start slacking off hard for the next 2 semesters

Lol. Of course buddy. Enjoy the courses and your time off. I'm mostly enjoying my summer while working right now lol, I don't want to regret anything before starting med school.

My school required that I pass all courses taken after I was accepted with at least a 75%.

If you can't manage that and still get your slack on, I don't know what to tell you.

Congrats on getting accepted.
Just enjoy your last year, I would say. How about P/NP option for the rest of this year? 😛
Have you thought about that? That would keep your UG GPA where it belongs.

Unless it's a non sciences classes. At my school (UC ...), they won't allow you to do that for major science cores classes

I would if I could, but my university only does letter grades

Just got off the phone with DCOM admissions. The requirement is you must graduate with an undergraduate degree and pass your classes prior to matriculation with a C or better.

lol other than that, we can take it easy!
