I saved my PS in text format in MS word? Everything was looking fine, but when i pasted it into MyEras , I find that the quotes and the apostrophes are just not accepted.
How can one write proper english without them?

Are they special characters? Then even full stop, comma etc should be special and not be allowed.

This sucks, cant they update their software a bit to accept atleast quotes, apostrophes and basic punctuation when they charge so much for it.

I feel I am screwed up on the last day.

Just go through what you pasted in and edit it manually. MyEras allows all those characters, it just doesn't recognize copies of them (even if you converted it to a text file as the instructions suggest). So you have to proofread and add them back, in place of the upside-down questionmarks and stuff. It's a glitch in their system, but one you can work through. Chill.

Oh I got it, atleast these punctuation marks work in myeras editor.
Thank god!

For others who might just freak out at the last moment, i would say one can also use the search function of your browser and find out any ? or ¿ that might be there and replace them with the appropriate characters.
I think they need to make that "Help" link more descriptive in MyERAS

Maybe period or simply dot is a better word.

In word, click on "save as."

Scroll down to "Plain Text" under file types.

Click "save."

A new box comes up that has a selection for "Text encoding"

Select the box that says "Other encoding"

Select "US-ASCII"

Click "ok"

Now you should be able to copy and paste directly from word onto ERAS without any special characters included.
